Located on the south side of the JR Asahikawa Station, the roadside rest area “Asahikawa” is next to National Highway 237 which links to Hidaka via Furano.
Closed to this rest area, there are attractions such as “Taisetsu Crystal Hall” with local history museum, multi-purpose hall “Taisetsu Arena” various events such as ice hockey are held, “Mihon-Bayashi” where the story “Hyoten”by Ayako Miura takes place, and “Ayako Miura Literature Museum”.
