This roadside rest area is located at the town center of Matsumae, which has rich history and well known as a town with 10,000 cherry trees of 250 varieties, along National Highway 228.
You can enjoy the surpassing beauty of the Tsugaru Strait which Japanese freight vessel named “Kitamae-Bune” once had pass through for trade between the main island of Japan and Hokkaido formerly called “Ezochi,” fresh seafood such as “Tuna from Matumae” and “Abalone,” and specialties such as “Matsumae-zuke (Matsumae style pickle)”and “Dried Squid” made carefully by famous shops in Matumae.
