ROUTE 229 Gennadai Southern Hokkaido Area
Located along National Highway 229 and next to “Gennadai-Kaihin Park” with natural swimming pool rare in Japan and “Maguro-no-Misaki” designated as one of Hokkaido’d natural monuments, “Route 229 Gennadai” is the center of marine activities in the Town of Otobe.
Located at 40 m above sea level, behind the building has a square with monument “Shiofue,” and you can rest while overlooking deep blue of the Sea of Japan and Nationa Highway 229 running on the coastline.
Here sells local specialties such as Tarako (cod roe) and Yuri-Monaka (wafer cake filled with lily-bulb jam).
