Opened in 1997 as the flower-themed tourist spot named “Makkari Flower Center,” it was reopened as a roadside rest area on April 28.
Located on the midpoint of Hokkaido Prefecture Road, Iwanai-Toya line, connecting Niseko and Rusutsu and viewing Mt. Youtei on the north side, it provides a comfortable setting, surrounded by flowers, with arranging facilities including the Center House, Glass House, a Circular House, restroom, and a multi-purpose facility, flower beds and lawns on the site of about 40,000 square meters.
This rest area sells not only potted flowers and cut flowers of lily with an insistence on local flowers but also proud agricultural products such as edible lily bulb and potato in all seasons.
